Looking for Temporary, Permanent and/or Contract?
At Chamberlain Beaumont we are both an Employment Agency (dealing with permanent staff) and an Employment Business (dealing with temporary and contract staff). When you come to register with us we will be happy to help you with your CV, presentation and interview techniques, but in the meantime we have put together some helpful notes here that we think you might find useful.
Bullet Points on Preparing your CV
- Keep the presentation simple and the
content to the point
- Try not to use fussy fonts and borders
- a lot of companies scan in documents
- Put your name and all contact details
at the top - including email addresses
- Put your education and work history
in reverse order (latest one first)
- Enter your duties in order of responsibility
using bullet points and try to avoid long explanations - that's
what the interview is for
- Fill in ALL the gaps. If you went traveling
for a year then put that down. If you leave gaps your potential
employer may think you have something to hide!
- There's no need to bind it as these
will be removed. Just staple or use a paper clip.
- Run a spell/grammar check on it or ask
somebody else to proof read it. You'll be surprised how many
have errors
- Take a hard copy with you and another
copy on disk as different people like it in different formats.
- Don't forget this document is about
you so use your own words.
